When my wife (Kenzie) and I got married we received a card that read, "never stop dating each other". Random camping trips, laundromat meetings, Chinese food in cars, are just a few of those dates. Last night we decided on a bike ride and ice cream. We ended up at a park with disgusting beetles. The point is that we were together, making memories, and growing closer together.
Marriage is a special commitment. It teaches us how to love better, serve others, practice forgiveness, and it teaches us something about God. In Ephesians five husbands are told to love their wives like Christ loved the church. Meaning husbands have to give up their lives to better love their wife. Wives have to be submissive to the husband just as they are submissive to God.
Here are just a few few of the points we can take away from this:
1. Christ died for us
2. Husbands must love their wife unselfishly
3. God has all authority
4. Husbands and wives must seek and submit to the authority of God
