Happy New Year!!!

Read Now

With the start of the new year comes new goals and resolutions. These may be to lose weight, stop smoking, read a book a month, and so on. The problem though is that these goals will soon fizzle out. They are too big and vague to ever be accomplished. I would know since last year my goal was to post a video every week day and eventually I had to give up. Time restraints, a lack of internet, and about a thousand other excuses got in my way.

The key to goal setting is to keep them smart.
S. S stands for specific. Keep it simple though. Ask yourself what you want to accomplish, what will it take, are others involved?
M. M stands for measurable. If its weight loss or saving money ask yourself things like how much you want to loose or save, how will I know when I have completed my goal?
A. A stands for attainable or achievable. This is the time to ask yourself if you can actually accomplish the goal. Can you really become a millionaire in one year or lose two hundred pounds?
R. R stands for relevant. This asks questions like is it the right time for this goal, is it worth it. An example would be losing weight while pregnant. This might not be the best goal. Think  about your life and what you want before making the goal.
T. T stands for trackable. This means to give your goal a timeframe. To lose 5 pounds every month for 6 months. To play 5 piano songs by April. Read 10 books this year. Tractability gives you and your goal accountability.
Whatever your goals are for this next year make sure they are smart.

My goal

My goal for this year is to post a blog every week. They will be shorter and more devotionally focused. It is my hope that you not read these posts alone. Find a friend, a couple friends, a spouse, a person you met at a coffee shop and read and talk about the posts together.. This next year will have a big push for community.

Start finding your community now because
the next post is coming at you on
January 9th at 10AM.
