I write this with only having two assignments of the semester left. Only a few more days before I can say the semester is COMPLETE! As I sit in the seminary building I just began to drift from all the assignments I have to write and began to think about this site/ministry and the hope I have for the future of it. One of my final assignments even gave me space to think about how to do all of this well.  The assignment was a twenty-page paper on how churches (really anyone) can use the internet as a way to disciple. I spent a lot of time exploring that idea researching that idea and eventually wondered why I am still not fully using the ideas. I took time off from posting so that I could think about that paper and ultimately this site. I want to continue to post weekly, although there maybe weeks where I don’t post a blog. As I figure out the plan and what works best things may begin to look differently. Here are my goals though. I want to post a blog every Monday, as I have been. I also want to post a weekly video. I don’t always feel that I have a story to share through video, but this blog is called #sharethestory for a reason. My last goal is to start actually making the podcast. Kenzie and I plan to move very soon and in that new space I will have a dedicated place to record. I plan to start by asking friends and eventually talk with more and more people. I announced that this was a goal and since then I have been too nervous or shy about actually doing it. I have excuses like I’m not sure how to record, I’m not good at keeping conversations alive, or I have no place to record. That has to end. If I believe this is a calling of God, then not acting is disobedience to him. So, I ask you, is there something God has called you to? Are you actually doing it or are you like me and are giving him excuse after excuse? It is time for you to embrace his call. Live into the call he has given you and stop running from it.
