A few friends of mine have been, or are just starting, blogs. One of those friends posted last week about what is saving her life right now and I thought I'd give her a response in the form of my own blog post. So, Rachel here's what's saving my life right now. Rachel’s post was about what has been saving her life right now. The main point of the idea is to talk about the things in life that are good for your life instead of focusing on what is draining you of life. If you want to read Rachel’s post or get more context of the idea you can do that (here). I began thinking about this for myself and these are the things bringing me joy. ***these joy bringers may contain language you aren’t a fan of so keep that in mind if you choose to listen/watch for yourself 1. Matt D'AvellaMatt D'Avella is a film maker. He directed the documentary called Minimalism, which you can find on Netflix. He started a youtube channel and podcast about a year ago. He talks about his life and journey with minimalism as well as interviews creative people on his podcast. He is genuinely funny and motivational. While I could give you so many videos of his that I continually watch I'll leave it with one video and one podcast episode that everyone should watch. The Era of Upgrades Mens Mental Health 2. Mike PosnerDoes that name sound familiar to you? He had a hit song so long ago, and now he's coming back. He has been credited with co-writing for major artists, listened to over two billion times on YouTube alone, and he is on a journey. I'm not given life by his music but by his journey. He has learned who he is, dealt with his father dying of brain cancer, and now he plans to walk across the United States. I just watched an interview he did and I was blown away by him. He talks about his journey much better than I did and gives so much wisdom. 3. New MusicI have been listening to a lot of different music lately. Some of it is older songs that I'm just finding now but others are newly released song. Something that seems to be a theme for them is that they are very emotional type songs. You can listen to a full playlist linked below, but I wanted to mention that Julia Michaels new album is fantastic and Sasha Sloan has a great song (older). 4. The PunisherSeason two of the Punisher was recently released and I binged that show hard. It has flaws but overall I loved it. And if Netflix doesn't have a season three I'm going to do to Netflix what Frank did to Billy. The common theme between everything that has saved my life recently is that it's mostly audio that can be played in the background. Maybe that is because I can listen and do my work at the same time. This list is also pretty emotion filled content and I'm not really sure what that says about me or life right now, but at least its bringing me joy. What are the things that are currently saving your life?
