Waiting can be the hardest part. You sit and long for answers hoping the outcome is favorable but what if it isn’t? Everything is stuck in this limbo of will it happen or won’t it happen. Sometimes you know the answer but still have to wait for the events to unfold. Still there is this desire to just have the answers.

It’s the not knowing. It’s the wanting to plan but being stuck with no solid information to plan from. Maybe though, we are meant to have these times of waiting. Maybe it’s in these times of waiting that God can show up. Hope can seem lost, there can seem to be no way out of a situation, and yet, every time God shows up and saves the day.

The Israelite people longed for a Messiah. For four hundred years (between the Old Testament and the New) God was silent. He didn’t send prophets, didn’t give any new messages, just silence. And yet after waiting four hundred years God shows up. He shows up by being born and stepping foot into the world of humanity.

The wait is a biblical constant. Abraham waits for a child. Joseph waits to be free from his prison. Moses and Israel wait to leave the dessert. David waits to be king. The church waits for its returning king.

Not once has God every abandoned those who wait on him. Not once has he failed as they patiently seek him. Not once has God left his people in need. So, in your life and situation expect God to move. Expect God to answer. Expect God to move even if that means living in a place of uncertainty for now.
